Podcast

A podcast,  video or audio, is a simple way to syndicate new programs to subscribers (clients) from storage locations on the web.  A podcast is great way for churches, civic clubs, emergency organization, businesses, and nonprofits to communicate with members and friends.  Not subject to the vagaries of email, or requirements to be online to view or listen, as soon as new programs are posted, the subscriber’s computer senses availability and downloads the program to the computer for viewing or listening at the subscribers leisure.

If you are new to PODCASTING  – the idea is to have a software program on your laptop, Smartphone, or both – set up to routinely check for and download new episodes or programs from your favorite PODCASTER  ( we hope we are one of your favorite). You can then listen to new programs as you have time – even if you are not connected to the internet.  Apples “ITunes” includes a “pod catcher” application in addition to the hundreds of other things it can do, but if you want a simple, small and easy to use “PODCATCHER” we recommend “JUICE” – the link below will take you to the web site and download.

If your Smartphone or PDA can connect directly to the internet, you may elect to install a Pod catcher application directly on the device.  For Windows Mobile Device operating systems, we recommend “BeyondPod” – a a very flexible pod catcher which will allow you to subscribe and download podcast program directly from the web.  There are similar applications for the I Phone, Blackberry, and Droid operating systems. Check the support web sites for your device.
